Wonder Years Mummy Matter Recipe Cottage Pie


Preparation time: 1hr


  • 500g ground beef
  • 3-4 medium-size potato
  • 1/4 of a small pumpkin
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 100ml fresh milk
  • Thyme
  • 1/2 cup carrot diced
  • 1/2 cup of green peas
  • I medium-size yellow onion


Step by step cooking method

  • Preheat the oven at 180 deg for 20-min
  • Boil peeled potatoes and pumpkin till soft
  • Marinate beef with your fave seasoning for 1hr (I used Japanese yakitori sauce)
  • Pan fry chopped yellow onion till slightly soft
  • Add carrot and peas
  • Add beef then thyme
  • When almost cooked, remove and spread onto baking casserole
  • Mash potato and pumpkin separately
  • Spread pumpkin onto beef forming 1 layer
  • Add egg yolk, cheese, a dash of salt and fresh milk into mashed potatoes
  • Spread on top of the pumpkin
  • Use a fork to draw letter S over the top
  • Sprinkle a bit more cheese on top
  • Bake 170 deg for 20-min
