Going on a holiday with kids can be challenging and parents usually plan kid-friendly places in their itinerary to entertain and engage their little ones. Kids Plaza Osaka is one delightful gem we discovered in Osaka that promises to provide kids with loads of fun with their interesting range of activities.  As Albert Einstein once said, “Play is the highest form of research”. The founder of Kids Plaza Osaka totally believes in this philosophy and built the first museum in Japan with the aim of letting the kids to learn through play. Looking through the eyes of a child, Einstein understood fully what a kid wants and urged us to think like a child too!

A giant duck welcomed us when we entered the building that led us to the main entrance of Kids Plaza. As we stepped in, the first thing that grabbed our attention on the first floor was the captivating ‘Ball Circus”, which consists of balls circulating around the enchanting circuit through colourful rotating wheels, tipping barrels, twist and turn tracks and dazzling obstacles that would tickle a child’s sense of wonder. After marvelling at the interesting display, we proceeded to level 4 where the real adventure began.

My kids’ eyes twinkled with excitement when they saw the wacky Kids Town – An impressive indoor playground that consists of maze-like tracks and corridors, crooked walls, hidden passages, windows of various shapes and sizes, exciting tube slide and an eye-catching red suspension bridge where you can have tons of thrills and spills there.  My boys ran pell-mell around the play structure, scaled the walls and clambered their way through the bridge to and fro, excited over their new found paradise.

After an hour of fun, we strolled to the culture area where kids were exposed to various cultures from different countries.  My boys tried their hands on musical instruments from folklore, played traditional spinning tops and wore beautiful ethnic costumes for a great shot.

At the nature area, it is a place designed to foster an interest in nature where kids can find a variety of insects like praying mantis and beetles, as well as some fish species from Yodo river and Osaka Bay. Various types of plants, flowers and herbs were also found to educate the children of their important existence.

Next, we went to the Science section that consists of fascinating displays such as pump playground, human body system and soap bubble area. My boys enjoyed and found immense pleasure in creating a large blanket of bubbles of various sizes that they found intriguing. On top of that, they even managed to experience standing right inside one huge bubble that I tried very hard to create. A truly unforgettable experience for the whole family.

In a nutshell, Kids Plaza offers an impressive range of interesting activities for kids to enjoy so they can stay away from electronics gadgets completely. If you plan to visit Osaka, add this place in your itinerary so the whole family can play and learn together. Thumbs up!
