Developed by the British Red Cross, it’s chock-full of useful video tutorials and easy-to-follow advice for keeping the little ones safe. Covering some of the most common emergencies, from asthma attacks, allergic reactions to accidents in the garden, other nifty features include a recorder for your child’s medication needs and handy checklist. While the numbers listed are for the UK, the information’s still useful elsewhere in the world.

2. Glow Baby Newborn Tracker

Log and time all aspects of your infant’s care. Keep track of everything from bottle feeds to breastfeeding, nappy changes to sleep schedules, developmental milestones to medication, and have them summed up in daily and weekly summaries. Plus, you also get personalised parenting tips daily.

3. BabyTime (Track & Analysis)

An all-in-one baby app, it helps you track feeding times, bottles, pumping, sleep, baths and even diaper changes – and converts them into a customisable graph for easy analysis of his natural patterns. What’s even niftier is that you can then share his day with caregivers or his infant care centre – perfect for reinforcing parent-caregiver partnerships.

4. Spotify

Spotify’s super popular music doesn’t cover just your audio needs. Choose from a huge selection of sounds: womb noises to waterfalls, fairy tales to classical music for kids – it’s got all the baby sounds covered and more.

5. Lose It! – Calorie Counter

More than just another calorie counter, getting rid of that baby bump promises to be much easier with this app. You create an account, set a weight loss goal, and it’ll come up with a plan for you. What’s even niftier is that you can log your calorie intake simply by taking a photo of your food – eradicating most of that dreaded hassle. For more motivation, create a private challenge with your friends, or join a public challenge. Premium features include meal targets and planning.

6. Growth: Baby & Child Charts

Track your child’s growth and plot it against WHO and CDC templates (for use by paediatricians)  from birth to 20 years. 10. Cloud Baby Monitor

Best off all, you just need two Mac devices – pretty handy, and gives you one less baby device to pack.
